Just Get a Bigger Sofa!

It's a big red one with a large assortment of comfy pillows-the sofa we finally decided upon.  It took awhile to find it and we got lots of 'little grins' from the sales reps when we asked to see sofas big enough for the two of us to lay side by side!  We would then explain that for almost thirty years one of our favorite date times was to curl up together on our sofa and watch a movie and we didn't intend to stop now!  Granted my husband and I are a little larger than when we first began these dates and our body's' requirements for comfort are a little more demanding:
lots of smooth soft upholstery, lots of downy pillows, and plenty of room! 

Even though the effort to find just the right provision for our special time together took awhile-it was so worth it!  There is nothing like that feeling of being curled up safe and cozy wrapped in the arms of the one you love and watching a movie-even if the movie ends of being THE UNIVERSAL SOLDIER with lots of guy stuff instead of the chik flik I had hoped for...  The main thing isn't the movie, it's the intimacy, the connection  this special time provides!!!

Isn't it the same way with GOD?  We long for that intimate time with HIM, to feel close to HIM, but as time passes and change occurs, it becomes difficult sometimes to find just the right place for this special connection.  Demands for our time and attention, new burdens and cares, doubts due to our failures and disappointments cause us to become unsure that provision can be made to experience the intimacy we so enjoyed in the past. 

There is a simple solution really-just get a bigger sofa!  Search and discover that when you forget about all the reasons you can't that you will soon find you can!!!  Enlarge your view of who HE is and how much HE desires this special time with you.  He doesn't care about how long it has been or how different you are now. HE only cares about you getting comfortable with HIM so that HE can share HIS heart of LOVE for you and enjoy an intimate time of companionship with HIS BELOVED!!!
